From February 2002

Dear Fans of Tonya Harding:

I've decided to write a letter to all of you at once, as Tonya has received so many wonderful emails of support from you. Tonya is so grateful to all of you. She has gone through so much in the past years, and of course she would not have been able to handle it as well as she has without all of you.

It's been quite a while since I last gave you an update, and I want to apologize to you for that. So here goes an attempt to catch up.

First I want to say that Tonya is doing very well, in spite of the recent hardship that she's had to face. As usual, the media blew things way out of proportion, but the truth always wins out in the end. Just to set the record straight, I love Tonya very much, but Greg and I are still happily married, and I was never Tonya's roommate. I wouldn't have had a problem with that, but I think Greg would have had Ha! I was on the lease for business purposes only. Well, enough on that subject. If anything new arises from that circumstance, I promise to update you.

Tonya has been very busy lately. She did the show "The Weakest Link", which I'm sure you saw. She did it for the Charity (NOVA), for which she contributed $10,000.00. It stands for National Organization for Victims Assistance. She wanted to help the victims of the horrible 9/11/01 tragedy. But you probably didn't read that in the media. She also did a couple of appearances on the show "The Best Damn Sport Show Period", with Tom Arnold. The day after Christmas, we flew to France, where she skated in a Christmas show for French Television. She skated with all the top singles and pair skaters from France. She had a ball, and skated great. It was wonderful to see her skate again. This was the first skating that she's done since coming off her injury (she had a broken sternum) and wasn't able to skate for several months. It was my first trip to Europe, but mostly saw the inside of airports Ha! But she skated at a rink in the French Alps. It was so beautiful there, so that made up for not getting to see Paris.

A couple of weeks ago, she did a cameo appearance for a huge auto dealership here in Portland. It's a very funny bit that they had her do. For you fans in the Seattle WA or Alaska area, tune into the T-man show on KUBE all next week, starting on the 19th. They are in Seattle, but their show reaches all the way to Alaska. Tonya is going to be on there daily as the guest host. You'll be able to call in live to talk to her. She'll be on from 7:00 AM 'til 9:00 daily through the 22nd. She's also going to making a personal appearance at a car dealership to sign autographs, (you can also have you picture taken with her there).

She still hasn't had her book published. Things looked real good for a while, but we hope very soon. She has another big event coming up soon, which I can't disclose at this time. But I will let you know as soon as I can. She'll be a on a popular TV show on the 25th, but they haven't given me the green light to publicize it yet. So watch your TV guides. There is also a movie offer in the works for her.

As for the recent scandal that has happened at the Olympics, Tonya talks about it in the TV interview she just did. Her best wishes go out to David and Jamie, as well as the Russian pair. She understands the politics that go on behind the scene in figure skating. But I'll let you hear it from her (that's if they don't edit her comments).

Well, again, I apologize for the very long delay in writing to all of you. Tonya sends you her love and warmest regards. She also wants to say thank you to all the people still running websites for her. A special thanks to Kim White who runs "Blades of Gold" website. She is a very close friend of Tonya and me. She and her mom came to New York to see us while Tonya was there, making an appearance at the Barracuda nightclub. They also drove all the way to Huntington WV at their own expense, to see us. She also calls on daily basis to see how we are doing, (Love you Kim!) Thanks to Terry Hall and Charlie Main, and Paul and any and all who have been so faithful to Tonya through the years with your wonderful websites. Through the good times and the bad, you've have been there. Thank you all so much!!

Tonya and I want to send our warmest, sincere sympathy to all who suffered so much loss in the WTC, and Pentagon, and plane crash victims and families. We love America, and are so proud of the way you have all pulled together to help each other get through this. It was such a shock to all of us. We had been in New York just a few weeks prior to the horrible attacks. I'm sure that we will overcome this, and please know that Tonya would love to skate for the victims and there families if given the chance.

Until next time, please keep in touch. You can write to Tonya at my new email address nodnarbpub@hotmail.com or lglpr@hotmail.com

Love to all,

Tonya and Linda
